The Untouchable SunWith a trembling hand I reach to touch the sun.
With tentative fingers
ghostlike, their movements only a faded
reflection
grasps the light
and burns away, crumbling to black ashes
The arm to which it is attached now
numb
to the pain

lips part weakly to allow their notes
to pass between them
singing of the
deep
black
ashes
They fly carried by winds
winds
consumed by those parted lips, from which they came
to deliver the touch of the hand.

Rides the wind as if they had wings
wings
yet another ghost of
reflection
pouring down the hourglass
streaming sands

;w; When I took the original picture the stupid colors were all dark and outta whack- so I tweaked the saturation and whatnot and put a filter on in a photo editor so it looked better. I can't use my scanner right now so I have to take pictures >w< those come out better than my crappy scanner anyway.

I like to use really soft colors when I use colored pencils

it's so much more fun~

lol i feel your pain. my scanner's pretty pissy these days, too. and it's so small that i have to take photos of the larger pieces anyway.

which medium did you use? acrylics? watercolor? i don't recommend oils for beginning painters, they're a bitch. >_<
